Things just keep getting better at the Jersey Shore.

Ratings for the MTV reality series increased to 2.5 million viewers Thursday night. In the adults ages 18-49 demo, the show rocketed 27 percent to a 1.4 rating. Shore also earned a 2.2 rating among women ages 18-34.

Thursday's episode made headlines days before its premiere, specifically after a clip of cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi getting punched at a bar went viral. MTV later decided to black out the scene.

Jersey Shore — which follows the tanning, fist-pumping and partying ways of eight Italian Americans — debuted to 1.3 million viewers Dec. 4.

AMY Winehouse's ex-husband told The Sun last night: "We're back together - and we're engaged."
Blake Fielder-Civil said he and the Back To Black singer, who were divorced in September, never stopped loving each other and got engaged again last month.

He added: "Amy and I have talked about getting married again and starting a family. We both definitely want kids."

His announcement is bound to rile Amy's father Mitch. He runs her career and still blames former junkie Blake for the troubles that have plagued his daughter.

But Blake, 31, claimed they had divorced only because of pressure from their parents - and had now made a love pact to stay off the drugs that helped tear them apart.

He insisted: "This time we're doing things properly and hopefully that will help both our families come round to the idea.

"We've both been through a lot but we love each other the same as ever. We've tried to get on with our lives and to see other people, but it wasn't the same.

And it’s not about being a celebrity — you get on MySpace, Facebook, there’s all these different outlets where people can just feel like nobody’s watching them so they can just say whatever they want to say, and that gets dangerous sometimes.”

On asking a guy to prom or any dance: “Oh man! I’m not sure there’s really a specific way to do it. I think you would seem more powerful if you just went up to him, even in front of his friends, and asked him. Because even if he says no, you can walk away knowing that you had the confidence to ask him. And I think that confidence is the best quality to have.”

Roisin Murphy has given birth to a baby girl.

The former Moloko singer delivered the 8lb 4oz tot on Tuesday (15.12.09). She has named her daughter Clodagh.

It is the first child for Roisin and her partner Simon Henwood.

Roisin, who is well known for her eccentric fashion tastes, wore a number of unique outfits during her pregnancy, including a Viktor and Rolf dress made entirely of net.

The 'Sing It Back' hitmaker will not have much time to relax following the birth of her baby, as she will soon start promoting her third, as yet untitled, solo album.
